Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. A little about me: I’m a Christian, wife, mom, and physical therapist. An introvert and homebody. I love being crafty, building things (a work in progress), and raising a garden with my husband.
My interests are many, but nothing compares to my true calling as a mom. I love staying home with my babies, although I question myself daily. I’m navigating motherhood without my parents, whom I lost when I was a teenager. This has given me a unique perspective on life and parenting.
My husband, Joel also works in healthcare, but enjoys all things outside. He grew up on a dairy farm in the hardest working family I’ve ever met. He is kind, smart, has a country song for every situation and excels at Dad jokes. He is a Christian, lover of Longhorn football, and is the muscle behind our garden.
We started raised bed gardening in 2015 and were successful by the grace of God and a relatively wet Oklahoma season. We have since grown the garden to an acre, hence, “Simple Acre Farm.” Through trial and error, research, and help from gardeners smarter than us we have successfully grown strawberries, numerous veggies, watermelons, and pumpkins.
We try to eat healthy, but focus mostly on moderation. On our table, you will find healthy homegrown grilled veggies and sliced melons as well as fried okra, sweet tea, and chocolate chip pie.
We are seeking to live an intentional, God-centered life. We love growing our own food, but our main focus is on our family. It gives us an opportunity to spend time together, unplugged from all the crazy. A place to teach and learn with our kids. A little bit of simplicity in a complex world.
This is where we share our adventures in faith, farm, and family. We hope you find inspiration from our urban farm and give gardening a try. The physical, emotional, and spiritual rewards have been far greater than we could have imagined.
